LCCF provided funds to WI&M Railway Historic Preservation Group to continue to preserve, organize, and make available its historical archives and records .
The grant award addressed the need to gather and preserve the photographic record of the restoration of the historic WI&M Railway Depot. The grant allowed for the archivist to begin to gather photographs documenting the restoration of the depot following its acquisition in 2001. Don Somer, then President, provided photographs taken in 2002 as the restoration process began. Bob Behal, now Chairman of the Board of Directors, provided digital files of photographs further documenting restoration activities in the between 2010 and 2019, including expanded activities to restore the second floor and neighboring X-5 Caboose and the beginning of restoration of the Annex.
